Our Story

Alex and Julia’s relationship began in a coffee shop in Leicester, UK, over three years ago. Though their first date was meant to last just an hour, they kept finding excuses to stay for longer. It took eight hours, after walks, a movie and a dinner, for them to say a reluctant goodbye.

Spoiler alert: it was the first of many. They spent almost every day of the next six months together, doing everything from binge watching TV to a trip to Denmark.

Eventually, however, Julia had to return Malaysia. But an 8 hour time difference didn’t stop them from talking every day, having online dates together and planning their future.

They both visited each other over the next few years, including Alex’s first visits to Malaysia. But it was back in Leicester where, in front of a candlelit fireplace, Alex proposed. She said yes.
